The title of this exhibition, "ষষ্ঠরেখা – The Margin of Memories" (Sixth Line - The Margin of Memories), is a conceptual provocation. It suggests a space beyond the visible or conventional—a metaphorical sixth line that transcends the known five lines of perception, reason, or form. It gestures toward the unseen, the unsaid, the intuitively felt.
This sixth line represents an inner axis from which memories, identities, and forgotten stories extend and take shape. It is a space that is neither at the center nor entirely absent—it exists in the margins, in the emotional peripheries where truth is blurred with feeling and time collapses into memory.
This theme resonates deeply with the ethos of Studio 6B, which has consistently positioned itself as more than just an art platform—it is a space for critical thinking, cultural reflection, and artistic exploration. Studio 6B believes in nurturing creative processes that are rooted in authenticity and introspection, allowing artists to create beyond trends and technical perfection, and instead connect to something deeply personal and meaningful.
We invite each participating artist to reflect on their own ষষ্ঠরেখা—to identify and interpret that intangible but powerful line which defines their inner memory landscape. Through this theme, we urge artists to go beyond representational or decorative art and delve into expressive, introspective, and possibly experimental work that reveals their personal narratives, cultural memory, or imagined histories.
By collectively mapping these "margins of memory," we hope to construct an exhibition that is both individual and universal, subtle and profound—a fitting embodiment of what Studio 6B stands for: A home for meaningful art that lingers in the mind and heart.
